Guided Meditation for a Brand New Day!

If you know me in real life, you definitely know that I’m a morning person. I often refer to myself as Grandma Emily because when given the choice, I’ll go to bed at 9:00 PM and get up at 5:00 AM (although, admittedly, my own grandmother doesn’t even do that). That’s not to say that I don’t often curse my alarm when I have to get up for work, but as soon as I’m up and around and listening to the birds chirp outside my window, I’m so thankful for another beautiful day.

There’s just something special about morning. One of my favorite quotes in Anne of Green Gables, spoken by Anne Shirley herself, is, “…tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.” I tend to think this way about morning. It’s quiet, the world is waking up, everything is peaceful, and we’ve made no mistakes in our day yet! It’s wonderful to be alive and present, just enjoying the precious quiet and early sunlight.

Now, I know there are plenty of people (quite a few of my friends and family included) who are skeptical about my morning enthusiasm. So, in order to spread a little of the morning love, I’ve created this guided meditation designed to start your brand new day with gratitude and simplicity. You can listen from your yoga mat, from the shower, or even lying on your back while still in bed. Whatever you choose, I hope you go forth into your day with a sense of joy!
